What should I do if the steam light is solid on my Dedica Duo - EC890 espresso machine?
A solid steam light means two possible things, each with a simple solution:
- If you intentionally pressed the steam button: The light is solid to indicate the machine is ready to steam! Simply open the steam valve (knob) fully to release steam and froth your milk.
-
If the light is solid immediately after turning the machine on (and you didn't press the steam button): This often means there is air trapped in the internal circuit. Don't worry, here's how to quickly resolve it:
-
Ensure the water tank is fully seated and filled with fresh water.
-
Place a cup or container beneath the steam wand.
-
Turn the steam valve (knob) fully open. Water will flow out to release the trapped air.
-
The machine will automatically stop the flow once the process is complete.
-
Once the flow stops ("2 x Espresso" indicator lights blink), then close the steam knob to the Off “○” position.
-
Your Dedica Duo is now ready to brew espresso or steam milk!
