Pump Espresso

What should I do if the steam light is solid on my Dedica Duo - EC890 espresso machine?

A solid steam light means two possible things, each with a simple solution:

  1. If you intentionally pressed the steam button: The light is solid to indicate the machine is ready to steam! Simply open the steam valve (knob) fully to release steam and froth your milk.

  2. If the light is solid immediately after turning the machine on (and you didn't press the steam button): This often means there is air trapped in the internal circuit. Don't worry, here's how to quickly resolve it:

    • Ensure the water tank is fully seated and filled with fresh water.

    • Place a cup or container beneath the steam wand.

    • Turn the steam valve (knob) fully open. Water will flow out to release the trapped air.

    • The machine will automatically stop the flow once the process is complete.

    • Once the flow stops ("2 x Espresso" indicator lights blink), then close the steam knob to the Off “○” position.

Your Dedica Duo is now ready to brew espresso or steam milk!
