Your coffee machine will alert you when it’s time for a descale. You should complete the cycle when prompted, to avoid your coffee tasting bitter and to improve energy efficiency.

Descaling only takes 30 minutes, and remember to be patient throughout the cycle. Do not turn off your machine during the cycle.

If your steam wand is sputtering, or someone has forgotten to press the clean button immediately after use, you may start to notice the difference in your coffee. 

To restore an authentic taste, give your carafe a deep clean by separating all parts and soaking them in a mild detergent or putting them in a dishwasher. For stubborn milk residue, we recommend using Eco MultiClean.
