Dutch oliebollen

Dissolve the yeast in the water and mix lightly.  Add the flour and mix the dough on the lowest speed.  Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. 
Cover the bowl with a towel and set in a warm spot to rise for at least 45 minutes.
The dough will rise enormously, so make sure the bowl is large enough.  Make balls of  /- 4 cm diameter with 2 spoons or an ice cream scoop and slide them into the hot peanut oil (190°C)..   Fry for about 6 minutes.
Drain well and sprinkle with sugar before serving.


  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 liter of water
  • 20g. salt
  • 50g. sugar
  • 80g. yeast
  • 10g. cinnamon
  • A few drops of lemon juice
  • 200g. raisins
  • 100g. Apple peeled and diced
  • oil for frying
