The green light goes off while making an espresso. Is this normal?

Yes this is perfectly normal. It takes around 18 to 20 seconds for the perfect espresso and the machine will still continue to work when the light is off. However please wait until the light returns before making a second espresso. This indicates the machine is primed once again.
