  1. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a mixer.
  2. Add the eggs at room temperature one at a time, then the salt and beat for 5 min until the mixture is free of lumps. Sift the flour (except for 30 gr to be set aside for later), baking powder and vanilla. Add a bit at a time, alternating with the milk.
  3. Mix the ingredients well, then divide into two equal parts. Put one half in a bowl and add the remaining flour and in the other half add the sifted cocoa.
  4. Remove the paddle from the bowl.
  5. Butter and flour the bowl. First add the light batter divided into three parts. Do the same thing with the dark batter, filling in any gaps between the light batter.
  6. To get the marble effect, swirl a fork through the two coloured batters from top to bottom. Close the lid, set the thermostat dial to position 2, press the bottom heating element button and press the on/off button.
  7. Cook for 40 min and then turn off the lower heating element.
  8. Cook for another 10 min. Check for doneness with a toothpick. If the toothpick is clean after sticking it deep into the cake, it is done.

  • Sugar: 225 gr
  • Milk: 165 ml
  • Salt (a pinch): to taste
