Understanding your water’s hardness is crucial for keeping your coffee machine in top shape. To find out the water in your area, you can;
1. Perform a water hardness test with the kit included with your coffee machine.
2. Conduct a postcode search using an online Water Hardness Map Search.
Once you know the water hardness area you live in, read your machine instructions and set the correct water hardness level using your instruction manual.
Removing milk residue will keep your milky coffees perfectly textured, the best way to remove it is right away so it doesn’t have a chance to harden.
If you use a milk carafe, turn the dial on your carafe to “clean”, or press the “clean” button on the top of your machine.
If you use a steam wand, clean the nozzle with a damp cloth and release a short burst of steam.
Wipe away any milk or water that may have landed on your drip tray while your coffee was being prepared.
Remove any hardened milk residue to keep your milky coffees taking great.
If you use a milk carafe, separate all the parts and put them in a dishwasher or soaking them in Eco MultiClean or another milk detergent.

If you have a fully automatic coffee machine, remove the brewing unit, rinse under warm water and allow to dry. Do not use detergent or any type of solvent.
f you have a manual coffee machine, soak the basket end of the portafilter handle and the filter basket in our Eco MultiClean solution (or another mild detergent) and hot water. Rinse thoroughly and run a couple of coffees through before drinking.
Descale your machine when the descale light turns on.
