  • Borettane (pearl) onions: 800 gr
  • Butter: 40 g
  • Sugar: 40 g
  • Balsamic vinegar from Modena: 70 gr

  1. First peel and wash the onions.
  2. Insert the paddle in the bowl.
  3. Add the butter, close the lid, select the POT program, set power level 4, set 40 minutes and press the program start/stop button.
  4. Melt the butter for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the vinegar and sugar and cook for another 3 minutes
  6. Add the onions and 100 ml of water and finish cooking (the time may vary depending upon the size of the onions), adding water if it starts to get too dry.
  7. They can be served as an antipasto or as an accompaniment to meat dishes.
