Steamed mussels with garlic and pepper

  1. Clean and scrape mussel shells and remove beard.
  2. Insert paddle in bowl.
  3. Put oil, cleaned mussels and a crushed garlic clove in bowl, close the lid, set the power level to position 3, press the bottom heating element button and press the on/off button. Cook for 12-15 minutes or until mussels have opened. Towards end of cooking time, season liberally with black pepper and salt, if needed and stir.
  4. When mussels are cooked pour into a big bowl, garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.


  • mussels: 2 1/2 lbs
  • oil: lev. 4
  • garlic, crushed: 2 cloves
  • pepper: to taste
  • parsley: 1/4 cup
