  • What is an oil-filled radiator?

    Oil-filled radiators are among the most common electric radiators available, and heat the air both by convection and to some extent by radiation.An electric heating element heats the oil inside the radiator, which then transfers heat to the radiant surface, where it is exchanged with the surrounding air.

  • What is a fan coil?

    Fan coils are electric heating appliances in which heat is distributed by a stream of warm air, in other words, by convection. The air is heated by convection, and consequently rises. This movement of air means heat is distributed throughout the room quite quickly. Convection is the best way to create a reactive and rapid heating system.

  • What is a fan heater with a ceramic heating element (PTC)?

    PTC products use ceramic heating elements. Ceramic elements mean the appliance can adjust heat output and consequently consume less power. The lower the room temperature, the more heat is delivered by the appliance; as room temperature rises, heating element output and consequently power consumption are reduced.

  • What is a fan heater with a traditional heating element?

    A fan heater is an excellent appliance for heating bathrooms or other rooms in the home. This is an electrical appliance featuring a heating element to heat the air, and a fan to blow the warm air into the room

  • Can the product be used with an extension cord?

    Our products should not be used with extension cords

  • Can I paint the appliance?

    No, the products should not be painted.

  • What are comfortable indoor conditions?

    Ideal comfort conditions in winter are a temperature of around 21 °C, and a relative humidity between 40 -60%

  • What precautions should be taken before using the appliance?

    Always check the appliance and the power cord; never cover the appliance, even temporarily, to prevent the risk of overheating; keep the appliance away from flammable objects; completely unwind the power cord whenever using the appliance; do not let water penetrate into the appliance; make sure the appliance's rated voltage corresponds to the mains power supply

  • Can I disassemble the appliance?

    Never disassemble the appliance. Appliances that are not properly repaired may be dangerous to users. If the appliance is not working or is damaged, contact an authorised service centre.

  • Why are there different types of thermostats?

    The thermostat switches the appliance on or off at the temperature set by the user.The term "safety thermostat" refers to a simple temperature limiting device (a safety requirement in compliance with European legislation) that the user has no control over.

  • Are there any precautions to be taken when storing the appliance?

    Make sure the appliance has cooled down, and store it in a dry place.

  • How do I choose the product that best suits my needs?

    If you need instant heat for a short period of time, we suggest traditional or ceramic fan heaters. If, on the other hand, you need longer-lasting heat, we suggest fan coils or oil-filled radiators.When choosing the appliance, you also need to consider the size of the room it will be used in.

  • How should I clean the appliance ?

    Before cleaning the appliance, make sure it is unplugged.Use a damp cloth to clean the appliance.Never use abrasive products, as these may damage the appliance.It is recommended to clean the inside and outside of the grills on the appliance at least once a year (using a vacuum cleaner where necessary).

  • How does the appliance work in fan-only mode?

    The motor runs, however the heating elements are not activated.

  • How do I install the appliance on the wall (where possible)?

    Carefully follow the information provided in the instruction booklet.

  • Are there any suggestions regarding how to use my appliance?

    Never insert any objects into the appliance.Always keep the product out of reach of children, animals or people with disabilities.Never use the appliance in dirty rooms or where there is the risk of fire. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer, or contact an authorised service centre.

  • What are decibels - dB(A)?

    The decibel is the international unit of measure for noise.
    40 dB(A) is the noise level inside a library;
    120 dB(A), on the other hand, is the noise produced by a plane during take-off.
    For each increase of around 3 dB(A), the noise we perceive doubles.

  • How frequent to use descaler cleaning and which kind of descaler product to use?

    It depends on water hardness and on the usage frequency of the machine.
    Some models are equipped with a water hardness tester to set properly the machine.
    Automatic machines (*) are equipped with a descale alarm.
    Descaling process on non automatic machine is recommended approximately after 300 coffee or as soon as the machine lower its original performances (approx after 300 coffee)
    Please use De'Longhi's descaler only. Under no circumstances should you use sulphamic or acetic based descalers

  • Which sort of water should I use?

    Ironing systems usually work with tap water. In the case of high calcium content water (hardness higher than 27°F) we suggest using demineralised water diluted with 50% with tap water. Never use demineralised water on its own. Do not use chemical substances or detergents (e.g. scented water, essences, decalcifying solutions, etc.). For further details please consult the product user manual.

  • Can I use a portable air conditioner to cool a room blind?

    You can, but you should be able to download the hot air out through the hose provided. In this case it would be necessary if the blind room adjacent to the external environment, creating a hole in the wall.

  • What are the criteria for choosing a good air conditioner?

    The most important criteria to bear in mind at the time of purchasing an air conditioner are:the type of air conditioner, whether fixed or mobile, one or several units and whether it is also capable of heating by using a heat pump, cooling power, expressed in BTU/h or Watt. You may also consider: energy savings that it may provide, noise levels, which must be low, dehumidification capacity, the presence of additional functions such as: a timer for programming, "sleep" to avoid temperatures dropping too low at the night, air filtering systems, etc. Finally, you must also take into account installation costs for fixed air conditioners and periodic maintenance operations.

  • Can I use any coffee powder to make an espresso?

    No, only powder for espresso machines. Espresso requires a specific range of powder grinding which is different to filter coffee or moka coffee.
    Different type of grinding level, even in espresso range, can provide different tastes.
    On fully automatic machines you can set your grinding level and taste preferences.
    On pump machines the in-cup coffee flavor (stronger or weaker) can be adjusted pressing differently the powder inside the filter holder.
